Wayne Pygram
Wayne Pygram, born on October 13, 1959, in Cootamundra, New South Wales, is a well-known Australian actor, celebrated for his portrayal of Scorpius in the acclaimed science fiction television series Farscape, which aired from 2000 to 2003, along with its sequel miniseries, Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, in 2004. Raised in Wagga Wagga, Pygram began his artistic journey as a teenager playing drums in a dance group. Initially pursuing a degree in art at Riverina College of Advanced Education, he switched to primary education studies, but his passion for performing arts led him to join a theater ensemble called the Riverina Trucking Company.
Before making his mark in film and television, Pygram was a familiar face on the Australian theater scene. In 2005, he made a notable cameo in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, where he portrayed a young Grand Moff Tarkin, reminiscent of the late Peter Cushing, who famously played the character in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. However, his real face is perhaps best recognized from his role as Isaac of Uluru, a faith healer, on the popular TV show Lost. Over the last two decades, Pygram has also remained active in music, drumming for various bands, including Signal Room. Additionally, he shares his musical talent by teaching drums at Kildare Catholic College in Wagga Wagga.
