4 titles Acting Mar 19, 1949 Died: Dec 05, 1981 Stoke Newington, London, England, UK

Darien Robert Kabir Angadi (March 19, 1949 – December 5, 1981) was a notable English singer and actor whose talent shone brightly in both music and drama. Born in Stoke Newington, he was the son of Patricia Angadi, a painter and novelist known for connecting George Harrison of the Beatles with Ravi Shankar, and Ayana Deva Angadi, an impoverished Indian writer and intellectual.

Darien's early passion for the performing arts was evident during his time at The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, where he was an active participant in school productions. In 1965, he gained recognition as a member of the school's team for the BBC's quiz show, Television Top of the Form. As a boy treble, he recorded works including Benjamin Britten's *Noye's Fludde* with the Wandsworth School Boys' Choir and performed pieces by renowned composers like Schubert and Schumann, also collaborating with the Finchley Children's Music Group and the London Boy Singers.

After his voice matured, Darien transitioned into acting, making his mark in theatrical productions and television dramas such as *I, Claudius* and *Blake's 7*. He served as a Choral Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge from 1968 to 1971. He married Irene Lenihan in 1977 and appeared in the *Blake's 7* episode titled "Horizon."

Tragically, Darien Angadi took his own life in 1981 at the age of 32. His life was commemorated in a BBC Four documentary on *Television Top of the Form* aired on April 17, 2006.
