Steven Weber
Steven Robert Weber is a celebrated American actor and comedian, widely recognized for his memorable role as Brian Hackett on the beloved television series *Wings*. He also lent his voice to the character Charlie B. Barkin in *All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series* and portrayed Jack Torrance in the miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's iconic novel, *The Shining*.
Born on March 4, 1961, in Briarwood, Queens, New York, Weber hails from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts; his mother, Fran, was a nightclub singer, while his father, Stuart Weber, was a nightclub performer and comic. His passion for acting ignited in high school, where he participated in numerous theatrical productions. Following high school, he honed his craft at the High School of the Performing Arts in New York City and later graduated from New York State University at Purchase.
Weber's film career took off with a significant role in the 1987 war drama *Hamburger Hill*. He appeared in various films such as *The Flamingo Kid* (1984) and *The Kennedys of Massachusetts* (1990). His breakthrough came in 1990 with *Wings*, which enjoyed an impressive eight-season run, earning him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.
In 1994, he began voicing Charlie B. Barkin until the series concluded in 1996. His portrayal of Jack Torrance in *The Shining* (1997) garnered critical acclaim, earning him another Golden Globe nomination. Weber's extensive body of work includes roles in *The Santa Clause* sequels, *The Christmas Chronicles*, and guest appearances on popular shows like *iZombie*, *NCIS: New Orleans*, and *Chicago Med*.
