Ryo Horikawa (堀川 りょう), born on February 1, 1958, in Osaka, Japan, is a distinguished voice actor with a prolific career spanning several decades. He is married to fellow voice actress Oikawa Hitomi, who shares his surname, having been born Horikawa. Initially, he was known by the name Ryo Horikawa (堀川亮) but opted for the current kanji representation of his name on April 3, 2001. Currently, he serves as the representative director of Aslead Company, a talent agency.

Horikawa's journey in the performing arts began in childhood, where he acted in elementary school productions. His voice acting career took off in 1984 when he voiced the lead character in the anime Yume Senshi Wingman. He quickly rose to prominence with iconic roles such as Andromeda Shun in the classic series Saint Seiya and Vegeta in the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z. Additionally, he lent his voice to Heiji Hattori, also known as Harley Hartwell, in Detective Conan (Case Closed) and portrayed Reinhard in Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
