5 titles Acting Jul 14, 1893 Died: May 14, 1969 York, Western Australia, Australia

Enid Bennett was born in York, Western Australia, and embarked on her film acting career in 1916, debuting with "Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford" alongside two other films that same year. Early in her career, she married American director Sidney Franklin, but their marriage ended in a swift divorce.

In 1917, Bennett appeared in five films, with "The Little Brother" opposite William Garwood being particularly significant, garnering her attention from major studios and expanding her opportunities. Between 1918 and 1921, she starred in an impressive twenty-three films, solidifying her status as a recognizable actress in Hollywood. In 1918, she married director Fred Niblo, known for his work on the second film adaptation of "Ben Hur." Although Bennett acted in only three films in 1922, one of them was the iconic "Robin Hood," where she played the role of Maid Marian alongside Douglas Fairbanks.

From 1923 to 1928, her output slowed to ten films as she became more focused on family life, giving birth to three children with Niblo. In 1929, her brother Alexander Bennett married actress Frances Lee, at a star-studded wedding attended by Hollywood icons like Gloria Swanson and Greta Garbo, but Enid's own film work dwindled, with only "Good Medicine" released that year.

Though she managed a partial transition to sound films, her roles became increasingly scarce, leading to just seven appearances from 1931 to 1941, the last of which was uncredited. After retiring in 1941, Bennett spent her later years in Malibu, California, where she passed away from a heart attack in 1969 at the age of 75. Her sisters, Marjorie and Catherine, also pursued careers in acting.
