Julien Poulin

Julien Poulin (April 20, 1946 – January 4, 2025) was a multifaceted talent in the Quebec entertainment industry, excelling as an actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and composer. Over his extensive career, he became known for his engaging performances in a variety of beloved Quebecois films and television series.

Poulin is perhaps best remembered for his iconic portrayal of Elvis Gratton, a character that humorously embodies the spirit of rock and roll legend Elvis Presley. The Elvis Gratton film series, which spanned from 1981 to 2004, showcased his unique comedic style and ability to connect with audiences. The series included notable installments such as "Elvis Gratton II: Miracle à Memphis," released in 1999, where his character is resurrected, and "Elvis Gratton 3: Le retour d'Elvis Wong," which premiered in 2004. Poulin also took on co-directing responsibilities for several films in the series, collaborating with Pierre Falardeau.
