Ken Page
Ken Page, hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, launched his illustrious career in the performing arts as a member of the chorus. His Broadway breakthrough came with the iconic role of The Cowardly Lion in the groundbreaking musical The Wiz. Page's talents extended beyond the stage, as he also captivated audiences with his cabaret act, Page by Page.
In addition to his theatrical accomplishments, Page made significant strides in film and television. He debuted on television in 1984 and graced the big screen for the first time in the 1988 film Torch Song Trilogy. Page is perhaps best known for lending his distinct voice to Oogie Boogie in the beloved animated classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, a role he reprised in various video games. His other notable film and television credits include performances in Dreamgirls as Max Webster and appearances in series like Sable and Adventures in Wonderland.
On stage, Page originated the role of Ken in the acclaimed musical Ain’t Misbehavin’ and took on the character of Old Deuteronomy in both the Broadway and filmed versions of Cats. He also portrayed Father in Children of Eden and reprised his role as The Cowardly Lion in multiple productions of The Wizard of Oz. Additionally, he showcased his vocal talents in Disney musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, and performed memorable songs like "Let's Make Music Together" in All Dogs Go to Heaven.
