Raised in the town of Belton, Eads comes from a family with diverse professional backgrounds. His father, Arthur Coleman "Cappy" Eads, served as a district attorney until his passing in 2011, while his mother, Vivian Baker (née Athens), offered support alongside his stepfather, Dudley Baker, a practicing gynecologist.

Eads has an older sister, Angela Eads Tekell, who has made her mark as an attorney in Waco, Texas. He completed his high school education at Belton High School in 1985 before pursuing a degree in marketing at Texas Tech University, graduating in 1989.
