Plot
Monte Walsh and Chet Rollins have spent years as dedicated cowhands, tackling various ranch tasks while enjoying the freedom of the open range. Their lives oscillate between the rugged wilderness and brief visits to town. Monte is deeply involved with Martine Bernard, a local prostitute, while Chet is smitten with the widow who runs the hardware store. As camaraderie and rivalry with fellow cowboys shape their days, everything changes when Shorty Austin loses his job, spiraling into a life of rustling and violence. Monte and Chet must confront the shifting reality of their once-simple lives.
