Françoise Prévost (January 13, 1930 – November 30, 1997) was a prominent French actress, journalist, and author. Born and raised in Paris, she was the daughter of the esteemed writer Marcelle Auclair. Prévost made her film debut at the young age of 18 in Jean de la Lune and quickly established herself in the cinematic world, appearing in over 70 films from 1949 to 1985.

Initially, she took on minor roles, but her career took a significant turn during the Nouvelle Vague movement, where she showcased her talent in notable films directed by Pierre Kast, Jean-Gabriel Albicocco, and Jacques Rivette. The 1960s marked a new chapter for Prévost as she ventured into Italian cinema, where she starred in a variety of leading roles across dramas, comedies, and genre films.

In 1975, Prévost received both critical acclaim and commercial success for her autobiography, Ma vie en plus, which detailed her personal battle with an incurable illness.
