Jules Munshin (February 22, 1915 – February 19, 1970) was a celebrated performer known for his talents in song and dance, particularly on Broadway. He gained recognition for his role in the hit musical *Call Me Mister*, which established him as a prominent figure in theatre. His Broadway journey also included notable performances in *The Gay Life* and *Barefoot in the Park*, showcasing his versatility as a performer.

In addition to his theatrical achievements, Munshin made his mark in the film industry, particularly through his appearances in popular MGM musicals like *Easter Parade* and *Take Me Out to the Ball Game*. However, he is perhaps best remembered for his memorable role as one of the sailors in the classic film *On the Town* (1949), where he, alongside Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, performed the iconic song "New York, New York." Another significant performance came in 1957, when he portrayed Bibinski, a Russian Commisar, in the musical *Silk Stockings*, further highlighting his range as an actor.

Tragically, Munshin passed away from a heart attack at the age of 54, just three days shy of his 55th birthday. His contributions to the arts remain cherished, as he left behind a legacy of unforgettable performances.
