Nour El-Sherif
Nour El-Sherif, a celebrated Egyptian actor, was born in Cairo's Al-Khalifa district. Tragically, he lost his father when he was just a year old. His passion for acting ignited during his school years, where he participated in the drama team while also playing for the Zamalek Club football team. After completing high school, he initially enrolled in the College of Commerce but soon switched his focus to the arts, attending the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts. He graduated with distinction in 1967, ranking first in his class.
In 1972, Nour married actress Bossi, and they had two daughters, Sarah and Mai. Although they experienced a separation in 2006, the couple reconciled in 2015. During his time at the institute, Nour met the talented artist Saad Ardash, who helped him land his first role in the play "Backstreets." His big break came when director Kamal Eid cast him in "Romeo and Juliet," where he befriended the renowned actor Adel Imam, who subsequently recommended him to director Hassan Al-Imam. Nour's performance in the film "Qasr Al-Shawq" earned him a certificate of appreciation, marking the beginning of his award-winning career.
He made his directorial debut at the Hanager Theater with the play "The Priest" and ventured into film direction with "The Two Lovers." Throughout his illustrious career, Nour El-Sherif has received numerous accolades for his exceptional contributions to cinema from various festivals.
