Plot
Set in 12th century Andalusia, Ibn Rushd, a celebrated Islamic philosopher, navigates the complexities of life with his wife Zeinab and their daughter Salma. The principality is overseen by Khalifa ElMansour, whose intellectual son ElNasser harbors feelings for Salma, while his younger brother Abdallah is enamored with a gypsy lifestyle that leads to scandal. As the Khalifa aligns with extremists to strengthen his rule, tensions rise, culminating in Abdallah’s recruitment for a dark plot against his father. The story unfolds with tragedy as Marawan, a gypsy artist, is slain and Ibn Rushd’s works are destroyed, reflecting Chahine's critique of radicalism.
