Jim Caviezel

James Patrick Caviezel Jr., born on September 26, 1968, is a notable American actor celebrated for his diverse roles across film and television. He gained widespread recognition as John Reese in the CBS series *Person of Interest* from 2011 to 2016. Caviezel has also made significant contributions to cinema with performances as Private Witt in *The Thin Red Line* (1998), Slovnik in *G.I. Jane* (1997), Detective John Sullivan in *Frequency* (2000), and Edmond Dantès in *The Count of Monte Cristo* (2002). His portrayal of Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson's *The Passion of the Christ* (2004) is perhaps his most iconic role, despite the physical challenges he faced during filming, including being struck by lightning and suffering from pneumonia.

Caviezel's acting journey began in Seattle, where he first performed in local theater. He earned his Screen Actors Guild card with a small part in *My Own Private Idaho* (1991) and later moved to Los Angeles to further his career. Although he received a scholarship to the Juilliard School in 1993, he opted to star in *Wyatt Earp* (1994) instead.
