Karl-Heinz Urban, born on June 7, 1972, is a prominent actor from New Zealand whose career spans both local and international projects. He first gained recognition through his work in New Zealand television and film, notably in the cult classic series Xena: Warrior Princess. Urban made his Hollywood debut in the 2002 horror flick Ghost Ship, which marked the beginning of his ascent in the film industry.

Urban is perhaps best known for his roles in some of the most beloved franchises in cinema. He portrayed Éomer in Peter Jackson's acclaimed The Lord of the Rings trilogy, followed by his portrayal of Vaako in the Riddick series. His role as Leonard McCoy in the Star Trek reboot series further cemented his status as a versatile actor. Additionally, he appeared in The Bourne Supremacy as Kirill and took on the character of John "Reaper" Grimm in the sci-fi action film Doom.
