Jins Shamsudin
Tan Sri Mohamed Zain "Jins" Shamsudin (Jawi: محمد زين بن شمس الدين; 5 November 1935 – 1 March 2017) was a prominent figure in Malaysian cinema, renowned for his multifaceted contributions as an actor, director, producer, writer, and politician. Over the span of his illustrious career, Jins became a household name, celebrated for his performances in numerous films that captivated audiences across the nation.
A significant highlight of his career was his role in the 1970 film "Siti Zubaidah," which solidified his status as a leading actor in the Malaysian film industry. His work extended beyond acting, as he also took on the responsibilities of directing and producing films, showcasing his diverse talents and dedication to the arts.
In addition to his contributions to film, Jins ventured into politics, where he further established his legacy by serving the community in various capacities. He was a passionate advocate for the local arts and culture, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Tragically, Jins Shamsudin passed away on 1 March 2017 at the age of 81 after an unfortunate incident involving a choking accident in a clinic located in Taman Melawati, Selangor. His death was confirmed by his second son, Putera Hang Nadim, marking the end of an era for Malaysian entertainment.
