Mary Jane Blige, born on January 11, 1971, is a renowned American singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist. She embarked on her musical journey in 1989 as a backing vocalist for Uptown Records. Over her illustrious career, Blige has released 13 studio albums, eight of which have achieved multi-platinum status globally. To date, she has sold over 80 million records, earning her numerous accolades including nine Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, and twelve Billboard Music Awards. Notably, she received three Golden Globe nominations, one for her acting in the film *Mudbound* (2017) and another for the original song "Mighty River," making history as the first individual to be nominated for both acting and songwriting in the same year at the Academy Awards.
