Liu Peiqi is a distinguished Chinese actor whose career spans several decades. His journey in the performing arts began in 1979 when he enrolled in the Military Art School. By 1983, he had joined the Military Drama Group in Xinjiang Province, where he honed his craft. Liu made his film debut in 1985 with the movie *Father and Son*, directed by Wang Bingling, marking the beginning of his impressive cinematic journey.

After transitioning to the Beijing Military Drama Group and subsequently the China National Drama Group, Liu gained fame for his role in *Days Without Leifeng*, directed by Lei Xianhe. His outstanding performance in this film earned him the prestigious Golden Rooster Award for Best Actor, akin to the Academy Award in China. In addition, he received the Best Performance in a Male Leading Role at the Outstanding Film Awards, presented by the Chinese Ministry of Radio, Film, and Television.

In recent years, Liu has continued to shine in notable films, including *The Story of Qiu Ju* directed by Zhang Yimou, *Ermo* by Zhou Xiaowen, and *Together* directed by Chen Kaige. His role in *Together* garnered him the San Sebastián International Film Festival Award for Best Actor, making him the first Chinese actor to achieve this honor. Liu Peiqi's contributions to cinema have solidified his status as a significant figure in the industry.
