Abid Ali expanded his talents beyond acting, stepping into directing and producing with the groundbreaking 1993 drama *Dasht*, which was notable as the first private production in Pakistan. That same year, he also directed *Doosra Aasman* for PTV, recognized as the first drama filmed outside the country. His versatility was displayed in various projects, including the 2007 series *Saheli* and the family drama *Massi aur Malka* in 2009, where he often showcased his acting skills alongside his directing prowess.
