Louis Minnaar
Louis Minnaar is a prominent South African actor celebrated for his compelling performances on television, particularly his portrayal of Wynand de Kock in the SABC2 drama series "Erfsondes" and Pieter Terre'Blanche in the popular SABC3 telenovela "High Rollers."
Minnaar pursued his passion for the performing arts by obtaining a National Diploma in Performing Arts from Pretoria Technikon, where he studied from 1979 to 1982. Soon after, he secured a one-year contract with the now-defunct Performing Arts Council of the Free State (PACOFS), where he showcased his talent in various repertory theatre productions throughout 1983.
From 1988 to 2000, he worked as a translator and voice artist at the SABC while continuing to act. Since 2005, he has enjoyed a successful freelance career as an actor, voice artist, and scriptwriter. His versatility is evident in a variety of roles, including Nick Dekker in the SABC2 mini-series "Huis van Liefde" and appearances in television series such as "Dryfsand," "Amalia," "Begeertes," "Justice for All," "7de Laan," "Binnelanders," "Kruispad," "Scandal!," "90 Plein Street," "Pandjieswinkelstories," and "Bloedbroers."
Minnaar has also made his mark in film, featuring in notable works like "District 9," "Getroud Met Rugby," "Winnie Mandela," "Heart and Soul," "Blitzpatrollie," and "Semi-Soet." In 2013, he took on the role of Pieter Terre'Blanche, a recovering gambling addict, in "High Rollers," which was expanded to a series regular in its second season when it transitioned to a telenovela format in 2015.
