Sheila Bromley
Sheila Bromley (October 31, 1911 – July 23, 2003) was an American actress renowned for her performances in television and film, particularly within the realm of B-movies, especially Westerns.
Born in San Francisco, California, Bromley launched her acting career in the 1930s after signing a contract with Monogram Pictures. She initially appeared under the name Sheila LeGay, featuring in Westerns alongside notable stars such as Tom Tyler. Throughout her career, she frequently partnered with acclaimed actors including Ken Maynard, Hoot Gibson, Johnny Mack Brown, Bill Cody, and Dick Foran. Her filmography includes significant roles in productions like *Land of Wanted Men* (1932), *Westward Ho* (1935), *Lawless Range* (1935), and *Idol of the Crowds* (1937).
In 1944, Bromley took part in the touring production of *Good Night Ladies*. She also made her mark on television, guest-starring in popular series such as *Rawhide*, *I Love Lucy*, and *Perry Mason*. During World War II, she dedicated her time to the USO, where she met her husband, Jairus Bellamy.
Over the span of her career, Bromley appeared in approximately seventy-five films, with seventeen being Westerns, highlighting her legacy in that genre. She retired from acting and spent her later years in the Greater Los Angeles Area until her passing in 2003 at the age of 91.
