Gale Storm

Josephine Owaissa Cottle, who became widely recognized as Gale Storm, was an influential American actress and singer celebrated for her work in the entertainment industry during the 1950s. She gained prominence starring in two beloved television series, "My Little Margie" and "The Gale Storm Show," both of which showcased her charm and comedic talent. Additionally, Storm achieved musical success, with six of her songs reaching the top ten on the charts, including her notable cover of "I Hear You Knockin'," which soared to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1955.

At the age of 17, Storm's talents were discovered when she won a contest on CBS Radio's "Gateway to Hollywood," earning a one-year contract with a film studio and adopting the stage name Gale Storm. She made her film debut with RKO Radio Pictures in "Tom Brown's School Days" alongside noted actors Jimmy Lydon and Freddie Bartholomew. Throughout the early 1940s, she starred in numerous low-budget films and gained experience that later contributed to her television career.

In the realm of television, Storm made her debut in "Hollywood Premiere Theatre" in 1950 and gained widespread acclaim with "My Little Margie," which aired from 1952 to 1955.
