Chris Elliott
Christopher Nash Elliott, born on May 31, 1960, in New York City, is an accomplished European American actor, comedian, writer, director, and author. As the youngest of five siblings, he was raised by Lee, a model and television director, and Bob Elliott, one half of the renowned comedy duo Bob and Ray.
Elliott's professional journey began in 1982 when he joined the writing team for *Late Night with David Letterman*. Over his six years on the show, he became known for his innovative and humorous sketches, which left a lasting impact on late-night television. In 1990, he stepped into the limelight as the creator and star of the cult classic series *Get a Life*, which aired for two seasons on Fox and showcased his unique comedic style.
His film career features notable appearances in movies such as *Cabin Boy* (1994), *Scary Movie 2* (2001), and the beloved romantic comedy *There’s Something About Mary* (1998). Elliott has also enjoyed recurring roles in popular TV shows including *Everybody Loves Raymond* (2003-2005), *How I Met Your Mother* (2009-2014), and *Eagleheart* (2011-2014).
Most recently, he captivated audiences as Roland Schitt in the critically acclaimed Canadian series *Schitt's Creek* (2015-2020), earning a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
In addition to acting, Elliott is a published author, having penned several works, including his memoir *Daddy's Boy* (1989), and he has directed films like *Strange Brew* (1983), a project he co-wrote with his father.
Elliott is married to Paula Niedert, whom he met while she was a talent coordinator for *Late Night with David Letterman*. Together, they have two daughters, Abby and Bridey.
