Xavier Gélin
Xavier Gélin (June 21, 1946 – July 2, 1999) was a prominent French actor and film producer, born into a notable artistic family as the son of renowned film star Daniel Gélin and actress-producer Danièle Delorme. He was also a half-brother to actresses Fiona Gélin and Maria Schneider. Over his impressive career, which spanned more than thirty years, Gélin became a familiar face in French cinema before his untimely passing from cancer at the age of 53.
Gélin appeared in over 20 films, often in supporting roles, showcasing his versatility and talent. He gained widespread recognition for his performances in Gérard Oury's 1973 comedy classic "The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob," where he starred alongside Louis de Funès. Additionally, he featured in notable films such as Claude Lelouch's "Adventure, It's Adventure," and Phillippe de Broca’s "The Devil by the Tail." His filmography also includes hits like Claude Pinoteau's "The Slap" and the sequel "The Party-2." Throughout his career, Gélin left an indelible mark on the French film industry, remembered for his contributions to both comedy and drama.
