Nabwana IGG

2 titles Directing Nov 06, 1973 Uganda

Nabwana Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey, widely recognized as IGG, is a groundbreaking filmmaker based in the Wakaliga neighborhood of Uganda. Renowned for his roles as producer, director, writer, shooter, and editor, IGG’s journey into the realm of action cinema began at the age of 32, following the birth of his first child. His formal film education is minimal, comprising just one month of a computer repair course before financial constraints forced him to withdraw. However, he cultivated his skills through hands-on experimentation with cameras and editing software.

While working as a school teacher to support his family, IGG established Ramon Film Productions (RFP), named in honor of his grandmothers, Rachel and Monica, who provided him with guidance during Uganda's tumultuous civil war. Since its inception in 2005, RFP has produced over 44 feature films, showcasing IGG's unique storytelling style and creative vision. Among his most notable works are "Who Killed Captain Alex?: Uganda's First Action-Packed Movie" and "Tebaatusasula," both of which have garnered significant attention.

Despite the viral success of trailers for his films, the majority of IGG's work remains largely unknown outside of the impoverished areas surrounding Kampala. He continues to live and work in his humble home with his wife, Harriet, who serves as his co-editor, and their three children, embodying the spirit of resilience and creativity that defines his artistic endeavors.
