Sam Lloyd
Samuel "Sam" Lloyd, Jr. (November 12, 1963 - May 1, 2020) was a talented American actor and musician, celebrated primarily for his role as the beleaguered lawyer Ted Buckland on the beloved comedy-drama series, Scrubs.
Lloyd pursued his education at Syracuse University, and he hailed from a family with strong ties to the entertainment industry; he was the nephew of iconic actor Christopher Lloyd, who starred in Back to the Future. Both Sam and Christopher made guest appearances on the show Malcolm in the Middle, with Sam portraying a housing attorney and Christopher appearing as Hal's father. Additionally, they both showcased their talents in The West Wing, where Sam humorously requested the release of UFO information, while Christopher played a constitutional law expert.
In addition to his acting credentials, Lloyd was an accomplished musician. He was a member of the a cappella group The Blanks, which often performed on Scrubs under the moniker "The Worthless Peons," also known as "Ted's Band." He further showcased his musical prowess as the bassist for the Beatles tribute band The Butties.
Throughout his career, Sam Lloyd left an indelible mark on both television and music, remembered fondly by fans and colleagues alike for his unique talents and engaging performances.
