Brendan Fraser
Brendan James Fraser, born on December 3, 1968, is a talented actor with dual American and Canadian citizenship. He rose to fame in 1992 with his performances in the comedy "Encino Man" and the drama "School Ties." His popularity soared in the mid-1990s with leading roles in films such as "With Honors" (1994) and the family adventure "George of the Jungle" (1997). However, it was his iconic portrayal of Rick O'Connell in "The Mummy" trilogy (1999–2008) that solidified his status as a Hollywood star. Fraser also showcased his dramatic range in films like "Gods and Monsters" (1998), "The Quiet American" (2002), and "Crash" (2004), while continuing to explore fantasy in projects like "Bedazzled" (2000) and "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (2008).
Throughout the late 2000s to mid-2010s, Fraser's career faced challenges due to a series of personal and health issues, compounded by the impact of a sexual assault he faced in 2003. However, he made a successful return to television with roles in "The Affair" (2016–2017), "Trust" (2018), and "Doom Patrol" (2019–2023). His film comeback was marked by notable performances in "No Sudden Move" (2021) and "The Whale" (2022), where his portrayal of an obese gay man earned him widespread acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the first Canadian to achieve this honor.
