Freda Jackson

Freda Maud Jackson (29 December 1907 – 20 October 1990) was a distinguished English actress renowned for her impactful performances on stage, as well as in film and television. Hailing from Nottingham, Jackson gained significant recognition in the mid-1940s for her portrayal of the menacing landlady, Mrs. Voray, in the acclaimed play "No Room at the Inn," a role she reprised in the 1948 film adaptation.

Throughout her career, Jackson transitioned predominantly into television, where she made notable appearances, including in the inaugural episode of "Adam Adamant Lives" and the cult classic series "Blake's 7." Her extensive body of work showcased her versatility and talent, with her final on-screen performance occurring in 1981.

Beyond her professional achievements, Jackson was married to artist Henry Bird and was rumored to have had a romantic involvement with the famed actor Errol Flynn during their time together at the Northampton Repertory Theatre. Freda Jackson passed away in Northampton at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy marked by her memorable performances and contributions to the performing arts.
