Katharine Gratten Aldridge (July 9, 1917 – January 12, 1995) was a celebrated American actress and model, distinguished for her portrayals of bold heroines in black-and-white serials during the 1940s. One of her most memorable roles was as Nyoka Gordon in the serial "Perils of Nyoka."

Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Aldridge was raised in a creative environment; her father worked as a surveyor while her mother was an accomplished artist and writer. After completing her first year of high school in Westminster, Maryland, she transferred to St. Mary's Female Seminary in St. Mary's City, where she became actively involved in theater, basketball, and joined the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.

Upon graduating high school in 1934, Aldridge began a successful career as a model with the John Powers agency in New York. Her striking looks graced the covers of various magazines, including Life and Ladies' Home Journal. In 1937, she was named one of the ten most photographed girls in the world, leading to her move to Hollywood for the United Artists film "Vogues of 1938."

In 1939, she signed with 20th Century Fox, where she took on several minor roles. After leaving the studio in 1941, she signed with Republic Pictures, embracing serial work despite initial reservations. Her iconic role in "Perils of Nyoka" featured thrilling cliffhangers that captivated audiences.

Aldridge's personal life included three marriages: first to Arthur Cameron (1945-1954), then to Richard Derby Tucker until his death in 1979, and finally to Harry Nasland until his passing in 1988. In her later years, she resided in Camden, Maine, where she became known as a gracious hostess. She passed away from a heart attack on January 12, 1995, in Rockport, Maine, and is buried at
