Ruth Warrick
Dame Ruth Elizabeth Warrick (June 29, 1916 – January 15, 2005) was a distinguished American singer, actress from Hollywood's Golden Age, and a committed political activist. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Phoebe Tyler on the soap opera All My Children, a role she inhabited from 1970 until her passing in 2005.
To mark her 80th birthday, Warrick attended a special screening of Citizen Kane, where she made her film debut as Kane's first wife. The event drew a full house, and she engaged with the audience afterward. Throughout her life, she amassed a collection of books about Orson Welles and Citizen Kane, often inscribing them with the phrase "Property of Ruth Warrick, Mrs. Citizen Kane." In addition to her artistic endeavors, she was also a Licensed Unity Teacher, reflecting her dedication to personal growth and community service.
