Robert Wilcox

Robert Wilcox, born on May 19, 1910, in Rochester, New York, was a notable American film actor who made a mark in the entertainment industry during the 1930s and 1940s. His acting career took off in 1936 when he was spotted performing in a summer stock production of "The Petrified Forest." Over the years, Wilcox established himself in Hollywood, showcasing his talent in a variety of roles.

One of his most memorable performances came in the 1940 movie serial "Mysterious Doctor Satan," where he portrayed Bob Wayne and his sinister alter ego, The Copperhead. This role became a defining moment in his career, solidifying his presence in the film industry.

Wilcox's personal life saw him married twice; his first marriage was to actress Florence Rice in 1937, followed by a union with Diana Barrymore in 1950. Despite his rising fame, his life was cut short when he passed away from a heart attack on June 11, 1955, at the age of 45.

He was laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in his hometown of Rochester, New York. Wilcox's contributions to film during a transformative era remain remembered by cinema enthusiasts today.
