Jean-Paul Moulinot

Jean-Paul Moulinot (30 June 1912 – 3 December 1989) was a distinguished French actor known for his significant contributions to theatrical performance, particularly as a member of the prestigious Comédie-Française.

Born in 1912, Moulinot developed a passion for acting early in life, which led him to collaborate with some of the most influential figures in French theatre. He was married to Yvette Hardy (1917-2000), a talented comedian affiliated with the Théâtre National Populaire (TNP). His career took a pivotal turn when he became involved with the inaugural Festival d'Avignon in 1947, a landmark event in the French cultural calendar that celebrated innovative theatrical expressions.

In 1951, following the TNP's revival, Moulinot joined the company and remained a key member throughout Jean Vilar's directorship, contributing to the troupe's reputation for excellence. His work during this period solidified his status as a prominent figure in French theatre. After Vilar's tenure, Moulinot transitioned to the Comédie-Française, where he continued to perform until his passing in 1989.
