Kay Linaker
Mary Katherine Linaker, better known by her professional names Kay Linaker, Kate Phillips, and Kay Linaker-Phillips, was born on July 19, 1913, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She made her mark in the entertainment industry as both an actress and screenwriter, particularly recognized for her contributions to B movies in the 1930s and 1940s. One of her most notable acting roles was in the acclaimed film "Kitty Foyle," released in 1940.
In addition to her acting career, Linaker ventured into screenwriting under her married name, Kay Phillips. She achieved significant recognition for her work on the cult classic film "The Blob," which premiered in 1958. Linaker is particularly credited with coining the iconic title "The Blob," which replaced the film's original working title, "The Molten Meteor."
