Yuki Matsuzaki, hailing from Miyazaki, Japan, embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of 7 with a local theater troupe focused on children's performances. Over the following years, he showcased his talent in more than 50 shows across community theaters until he reached 18. After completing high school, Yuki made a pivotal decision to fully commit to his craft and relocated to New York City, aspiring to become a versatile actor fluent in both English and Japanese. Unfortunately, upon his arrival, he faced an unfortunate setback when he lost all his money, leading him to a period of homelessness. To make ends meet, he began performing on the streets of Times Square, earning a mere $4.00 after an exhausting 8-hour performance on his first day.

Yuki's perseverance eventually paid off when he caught the attention of director Edward Zwick, who cast him in the film The Last Samurai (2003). This opened doors for him, leading to roles in Drunken Sword (2005) and Roku (2005). His impressive work caught the eye of Clint Eastwood, who cast him as Nozaki in Letters from Iwo Jima (2006). Yuki's dedication was evident in his intense preparation, where he subsisted solely on celery and water for five weeks to simulate famine and confined himself in dark spaces to embody the feeling of claustrophobia necessary for the battle scenes. Following this success, he landed a co-starring role in NBC's smash hit series Heroes (2006/II). In 2009, Matsuzaki appeared alongside notable actors such as Steve Martin, Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, and Aishwarya Rai in Pink Panther 2 (2009), showcasing his talent on an international stage.
