Chris McHallem

Christopher McHallem, born in 1960, is a multifaceted British talent recognized for his contributions as an actor, writer, musician, and director. He embarked on his artistic journey in 1977 with the punk/post-punk band the Transmitters, where he adopted the stage name "Dexter O'Brian." However, his passion for acting soon took precedence, leading him to depart from the band shortly after its inception.

McHallem's most prominent role came between 1987 and 1990, when he portrayed the character Rod Norman, a roadie, in the beloved BBC soap opera EastEnders.
