Chen Hung-Lieh
Chen Hung-Lieh, born on June 7, 1943, and who passed away on November 24, 2009, was a prominent actor in the Hong Kong film industry, renowned for his compelling portrayals of antagonistic characters during the golden age of cinema from the 1960s to the 1980s. Also known as Chen Hung-Lit or Golden Chan, he became a staple at Shaw Brothers Studio, where his performances left an indelible mark on the genre.
After taking a break from acting, Chen ventured into the garment business, demonstrating his versatility beyond the silver screen. However, in 1995, he made a comeback by joining TVB, one of Hong Kong's leading television networks, but left the following year. It wasn't until 2003 that he returned to acting, rekindling his passion for the craft that had defined much of his early career.
Throughout his life, Chen was closely linked to the entertainment world, being the brother of fellow actor Steve Chen Hao. His legacy in film and television continues to be celebrated, as he is remembered for his unique contributions to the industry and for his ability to bring complex characters to life.
