Wai Gei-Shun

Wai Gei-Shun is a prominent figure in the realms of business and sports in Hong Kong. He began making his mark at a young age, becoming the president of "Tin Tin Daily News," a notable media outlet. At just 23 years old in 1956, Wai ambitiously vied for the chairmanship of the Hong Kong Basketball Association. Although he was ultimately unsuccessful due to a lottery decision influenced by his opponent's support, this early attempt showcased his dedication to sports administration.

That same year, Wai took on the role of director of the basketball department at the Oriental Sports Association, further solidifying his commitment to the development of sports in the region. He continued to rise within the sporting community, serving as chairman of the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association and the Tung Wah Sports Association.

In 1958, Wai expanded his influence in sports media by providing commentary for the table tennis tournament during the Asian Games broadcast by Radio Television Hong Kong. His contributions to sports governance did not stop there, as he later assumed the role of vice president of the Hong Kong Football Association.
