Plot

Hong Kong photojournalist Lau forms an unexpected bond with Vietnamese translator Yuen Hung after being detained for a traffic incident. Desperate to locate her missing brother, Yuen seeks Lau's assistance. However, Lau faces further troubles when he is wrongfully imprisoned for three years as a protestor. With Yuen's help, they attempt to escape to China, but tragedy strikes when her brother is killed during their journey. Lau ultimately makes it to safety, but Yuen must stay behind, leading to a heartbreaking farewell as he leaves her in a perilous situation.
