David Frankham
David Frankham, born on February 16, 1926, is a distinguished actor known for his contributions to both film and television. His journey began after World War II, where he served in India and Malaya. Following his military service, he joined the BBC in 1948, working as a newsreader, writer, interviewer, and producer until 1955.
Seeking to expand his career, Frankham relocated to Hollywood in 1955, quickly establishing himself in the acting realm. He made his television debut in five episodes of the live series Matinee Theater and soon became a familiar face on American television. His film credits include notable works such as Return of the Fly (1959), Ten Who Dared (1960), Master of the World (1961), Tales of Terror (1962), The Spiral Road (1962), King Rat (1965), and The Great Santini (1979). He is also well-remembered for voicing Sergeant Tibbs, the clever cat, in Disney's beloved animated classic, One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
Throughout his career, which flourished particularly in the 1960s, Frankham made guest appearances on numerous popular series, including Thriller, Twelve O'Clock High, The F.B.I., Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C., The Beverly Hillbillies, The Outer Limits, and Star Trek. He continued to be active in television during the 1970s with roles in Cannon, The Waltons, and McCloud, showcasing his versatility as an actor across various genres.
