Denis Shvedov

Denis Shvedov, born on November 24, 1981, is a prominent Russian actor known for his compelling performances on stage and screen. He completed his studies at the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School in 2006, subsequently launching his acting career at the renowned Russian Academic Youth Theater in Moscow. Shvedov's early work in television paved the way for his film debut in the romantic comedy “A Good Friend for All” in 2008, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

His career took a significant turn in 2010 when he partnered with acclaimed director Yury Bykov for the film “Live!”, where he portrayed the lead role. The film garnered critical acclaim, capturing the Special Jury Prize at the Taipei International Film Festival and the Grand Prix at KinoRurik, Sweden's festival dedicated to Russian cinema. Shvedov's performance earned him the Best Actor award, solidifying his status in the industry.

In 2013, Shvedov reunited with Bykov, taking on the title role in “The Major”. This film premiered at the prestigious Cannes Critics’ Week and received accolades from numerous international film festivals. His exceptional portrayal in "The Major" won him the Best Actor award at the Pacific Meridian International Film Festival, further establishing him as a leading figure in contemporary Russian cinema.
