Raymond Thiry
Raymond Thiry is a prominent Dutch actor whose career began in the theatre scene in 1987 when he founded his own group, Alex d'Electrique. This company gained recognition and success, performing at various festivals across the Netherlands and Germany.
Transitioning to television, Thiry appeared in numerous popular series before making a significant mark in cinema. In 2006, he starred in the art film 'Langer Licht', directed by David Lammers, earning him a Golden Calf nomination at the Dutch Film Festival. His talent was further recognized in 2009 when he won the prestigious Golden Calf for his outstanding performance in 'Oorlogswinter' (Winter in Wartime), directed by Martin Koolhoven, which became a major box office hit.
Following this accolade, Thiry's schedule became increasingly busy, showcasing his versatility through a variety of roles in both film and television. He gained acclaim for his performances in the Dutch crime series 'Penoza', as well as in the feature films 'Sonny Boy' and 'Lotus', which premiered in the fall of 2011.
In late 2011, Thiry returned to the stage alongside acclaimed actress Sylvia Hoeks in the play 'Poskantoor', adapted from Charles Bukowski's 'Post Office'. The following year, he took on leading roles in the feature films 'Black Out' and 'Toegetakeld door de liefde', solidifying his status as a talented and multifaceted actor in the Dutch entertainment industry.
