Jimmy Ortega

Jimmy Ortega, hailing from El Paso, Texas, grew up in a family with a diverse background. His father, Miguel Ortega, was a cross-country truck driver, while his mother, Paulina Ortega, dedicated her time to being a housewife. Ortega's journey in the entertainment industry began during his formative years, where he honed his craft through two years of summer stock theater with El Paso Del Norte.

In 1978, he made the pivotal move to Los Angeles, where he quickly immersed himself in the film industry. His debut as a stuntman came with the movie "Hooper," released the same year. Ortega's initial acting role was a guest appearance on the popular television series "CHiPs" in 1977, marking the start of a dynamic career.

Throughout his time in the industry, Ortega has earned recognition for his exceptional work. Notably, he received the Stuntman's Award for the Most Spectacular Sequence for his contribution to the "North & South" miniseries. Further solidifying his reputation, he was a part of the ensemble cast of "Traffic," which earned the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in 2000.
