Plot

Seeking escape from the chaos of New York and the constraints of Eisenhower-era society, journalist Paul Kemp relocates to the idyllic shores of Puerto Rico. There, he takes a job at a struggling San Juan newspaper overseen by the beleaguered editor Lotterman. Immersed in a hedonistic lifestyle reminiscent of Hemingway's 'Lost Generation,' Paul finds himself drawn to a captivating American woman and her dubious fiancé, a businessman entangled in corrupt real estate schemes. Through this tumultuous journey, Kemp uncovers his authentic voice as a writer and a deeper sense of personal integrity.
