Dolores Moran
Dolores Moran was an American actress and model, whose career in film spanned the early 1940s. She made her debut in 1942, appearing in uncredited roles, including the acclaimed movie *Yankee Doodle Dandy*. By 1943, she gained recognition as a popular pin-up girl, gracing the covers of magazines such as *Yank*. Her growing fame led to supporting roles in notable films, including *Old Acquaintance* alongside the legendary Bette Davis.
Moran's breakthrough came in 1944 when she co-starred with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall in *To Have and Have Not*. While Bacall's performance catapulted her to stardom, Moran's role was diminished, as director Howard Hawks chose to focus on Bacall, limiting her screen time and impact.
In 1945, she starred opposite Jack Benny and Alexis Smith in *The Horn Blows at Midnight*, showcasing her talent in a leading role. However, following this, her film appearances dwindled due to health issues, leading to a career that concluded in 1954 with a part in the western *Silver Lode*.
Moran married film producer Benedict E. Bogeaus in 1946 in Salome, Arizona, and they had a son, Brett, born in 1948. The couple divorced in 1962, and Bogeaus passed away in 1968. Moran's life came to an end in 1982 due to cancer, leaving behind her son, sister, and mother.
