Biography:
Patricia Dane, a striking brunette reminiscent of Hedy Lamarr, was a second-tier actress known for her robust and spirited demeanor, a trait that suited her performances more than her personal life. Born Thelma Patricia Ann Pippen in Jacksonville, Florida, she lost her father shortly after her birth and spent some time under the care of her grandparents. When her mother remarried a man named Byrnes, young Thelma returned to live with her, adopting the name Thelma Byrnes for her upbringing.

After completing her education at Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Patricia enrolled in the University of Alabama. In 1938, she moved to New York aspiring to become a fashion designer, but her captivating beauty soon attracted modeling opportunities, leading her into the vibrant party scene of the city.

Patricia made her film debut as a glamorous Ziegfeld Girl in the lavish MGM musical Ziegfeld Girl (1941), quickly earning a contract with the studio. She appeared in minor roles in Life Begins for Andy Hardy (1941) and Johnny Eager (1941), eventually securing co-star status in "B" films like Grand Central Murder (1942) and Manhattan Melodrama (1942).

She was romantically linked to several prominent bachelors and, on April 8, 1943, married bandleader Tommy Dorsey. However, their tumultuous relationship, characterized by notorious public quarrels, ended on August 26, 1947, with no further marriages for Patricia.

Returning to the film industry, she appeared in minor roles in Joe Palooka in Fighting Mad (1948) and Are You with It? (1948), but her career struggled. In 1949, she made headlines for her arrest alongside actor Robert Walker for erratic driving and public intoxication. Following this, she managed only uncredited roles in films like Road to Bali (1952).
