Jim Carrey
James Eugene Carrey is a Canadian-American comedian and actor celebrated for his high-energy slapstick style. He spent the 1980s refining his comedic skills and taking on minor roles in films, but his big break came with his appearance on the sketch comedy show In Living Color from 1990 to 1994. Carrey quickly rose to fame in the film industry with a series of blockbuster hits in 1994, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber. This success made him the first comedian to command a $20 million salary per film, starting with The Cable Guy in 1996.
He continued to shine in comedic roles with films like Liar Liar (1997) and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000). In addition to his comedic prowess, Carrey earned critical acclaim for his dramatic performances in The Truman Show (1998) and Man on the Moon (1999), winning Golden Globe Awards for both. More recently, he has appeared in the Sonic the Hedgehog series and the Showtime dramedy Kidding (2018-2020).
