Laurent Marie Guespin-Malet, born on September 3, 1955, in Bayonne, is a notable French actor and the twin of fellow actor Pierre Malet.

Laurent made his theatrical debut in 1975, portraying Troilus in "La guerre de Troie n'aura pas lieu," alongside Claude Jade. His breakthrough role came in 1978 when he starred as Andrew in "Les Liens de sang," sharing the screen with Donald Sutherland and Stéphane Audran, which significantly raised his profile. That same year, he was cast in the lead role of "Haro" by Gilles Béhat. The following year, he appeared with Yves Montand in "Les Routes du sud," directed by Joseph Losey, and took on the role of Lino Ventura's son in "Jigsaw" (L'Homme en colère). Laurent also played Roger Bataille in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's adaptation of Jean Genet's "Querelle" and starred alongside Sandrine Bonnaire in "Tir à vue," directed by Marc Angelo, in 1984. In 1995, he portrayed the poet Arthur Rimbaud in Marc Rivière's "L'Homme aux semelles de vent."

Deeply connected to his family, Laurent was profoundly affected by his mother’s terminal illness. He documented his emotional journey in his 2006 book "En attendant la suite," where he passionately advocated for the legalization of euthanasia in France, responding to his mother’s plea to end her suffering.
