Person: Lisa Durupt

Bio:
Hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Lisa Durupt has carved out a reputation as a talented, humorous, and bold presence in both film and television.

In her youth, she excelled at ice hockey and was awarded a scholarship to an American university. However, a surgical procedure delayed her plans. On a spontaneous decision, she enrolled at the University of Winnipeg. After witnessing a local production of A Chorus Line for a theatre class, Lisa shifted her focus from athletics to the performing arts, ultimately pursuing theatre studies at the University of Winnipeg and the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

Her innate athleticism paved the way for her entry into the film industry as a dancer and stunt performer. Early on, she appeared in films such as Shall We Dance and The Lazarus Project. Her breakout role came when Canadian comedy icon Mark McKinney cast her as the feisty Shandra in the series Less Than Kind. Over four seasons, her unrestrained energy and knack for improvisation earned her a Gemini Award nomination in 2010 for Best Individual Performance in a Comedy Program or Series, along with a Leo Award nod in 2013 for Best Performance in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series.

Following a series of roles in projects like The Pastor's Wife, The Color of Rain, Run for Your Life, and Supernatural, Lisa secured a significant role as the fiercely competitive sister of Sonja Bennett in Preggoland, earning her another Leo Award nomination in 2015 for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture.

Currently, Lisa is thriving in her television career, portraying Andrea Todd, sister to Alison Sweeney's character, Hannah Swensen, in the Hallmark Channel adaptations of the popular mystery novel series, Murder She Baked.
