Guy Bedos (15 June 1934 – 28 May 2020) was a distinguished French actor, comedian, and screenwriter, celebrated for his sharp political satire and memorable performances, particularly in the film *Nous irons tous au paradis*. Born in Algiers, Algeria, to a health visitor father and a mother from an educational background, Bedos grew up in a challenging environment following his parents' separation. His experiences in Algeria as a Pied-Noir profoundly influenced his artistic voice and political views, often reflected in his work.

After relocating to Paris in 1949, Bedos pursued a career in the performing arts. He attended the prestigious Rue Blanche drama school, where he honed his craft in classical theater. His first major theatrical production was *Marivaux Arlequin poli par l’amour*, and he soon became known for his performances in cabarets, including La Fontaine des Quatre-Saisons. Encouraged by playwright Jacques Prévert, Bedos began writing sketches, with his first notable work appearing in *La Galerie 55*.

In 1954, he made his cinematic debut in *Futures Vedettes* and became well-known for his incisive commentary on political matters, often targeting right-wing figures while also critiquing his leftist allies. Bedos was an outspoken supporter of left-wing politics, notably backing François Mitterrand.

Throughout his life, Bedos was married three times and had four children. He passed away on 28 May 2020, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneer of French satire and an influential figure in the arts.
