Han Geng
Han Geng is a prominent Chinese Mandopop singer and actor, who launched his career in 2001 after being selected by S.M. Entertainment to join the South Korean boy band Super Junior, which made its debut in 2005. He took on the role of leader for the sub-group Super Junior-M starting in 2008. However, on December 21, 2009, Han initiated a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment to terminate his contract, seeking to explore opportunities in China as a solo artist. By September 27, 2011, Han's departure from the agency was officially confirmed, following a mutual agreement between both parties.
In recognition of his significant contributions to promoting Chinese culture, Han was honored as a torchbearer during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He also served as an ambassador for the 2010 Shanghai Expo and the 2010 Asian Games. His solo career began to gain international acclaim in late 2012, culminating in notable achievements such as winning the “Best Worldwide Act” at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards and being recognized as the “Favorite Asian Act” at Nickelodeon's 2013 Kids' Choice Awards. Han Geng continues to be a pivotal figure in the entertainment industry, bridging cultures through his music and performances.
